The Federal Land Development Authority or FELDA was established on 1 July 1956 under the Land Development Ordinance (Land Development Ordinance) in 1956.
Starting in April 2004, FELDA was placed under the Department of Prime Minister and minister responsible for the Honorable FELDA Dato 'Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia.
